Bullet Journal | Updated Bullet Journal Setup

If you follow me over on Instagram, you may have noticed I’ve changed my Bullet Journal setup! I found myself stuck in a rut and not using my planner to keep a track of tasks. As predicted I soon forgot things, had a load on my mind and found the urge to make a list.. but just not in my big and rather cumbersome Nuuna! Although I love my new setup (more on that in  a minute!), I do still love the Nuuna notebooks and the leather cover I have to wrap around it. They’re  tucked away or now but who knows, they may come back out in the future!

As for my new setup, I didn’t have any idea of what I wanted it to be like, all I knew is that I needed to be able to carry it in my handbag so it needed to be smaller. That’s when I re-found my love for my original brown Midori Travelers Notebook. Mine is a bit beaten and scratched, but it’s still a lovely piece of leather. I’ve decided that if I do stick this new setup out, then I may invest in a new cover… Depends how attached I get to this one!

Anyway, what better way to show you my new setup than through a load of images! Hold tight, get comfy and lets crack on!

Midori Inside 1 | SoSteffSo

First up when you open my Midori Travelers Notebook up is a zipper pouch insert and my Bullet Journal. I use this side of the pouch for my pencil board and for storing odd sticky notes then on the other side of it I have some notes and money calculations on scrap paper that I like to keep to hand.

Worth mentioning – on the front cover I do have a pen holder attached. My pen fits, but it is snug and this is the medium loop! (FYI this is my favourite pen. Small nib, dark ink!)

This first notebook is my Bullet Journal, I use Travelers Times notebooks from Etsy. Keeley is just wonderful and her inserts are such a great quality. I have a silver book dart on the top purely because it looked pretty – I know!

Midori Monthly | SoSteffSo

I just use a very simple and fairly standard setup. I like to keep it clean and I quite like the way the black ink looks on my white pages! This here is my monthly setup – fairly standard in terms of content; birthdays, appointments, anniversaries that type of thing. I use a paper clip on this page to lip the previous pages together so that I can flick straight to my overview!

Midori Daily | SoSteffSo

Next up are my dailies. I don’t use weeklies in this, but I might try one this week as I’m in need of a way to track my meals and exercise. Anyway, I just write the date then follow up with all my tasks! I’d like to track my water intake for each day, but I can do that in a weekly setup should I get round to making one up!

Last Insert & Pouch

This last insert is just for notes and doodles. It’s handy to draw up my layouts before I commit to them in pen so I often use this second notebook for that. As for the pouch, I just have a huge (seriously.. look at that thing!) paperclip, a smaller rounded one and then a few of my favourite sticky notes for on the go notes.

The only thing I feel I’m missing from my setup is some form of forward planning. If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them so please do leave a comment below!

Anyway, I hope you liked this short post on my new setup – keep your eyes peeled for an updated setup of my Malden in the next few days too!

See you soon!

  1. For “forward forward” planning maybe a half-page per month. That only takes 3 double-spreads and you’re covered. Otherwise an “upcoming actions” list on a relevant project page (project => anything from Home Maintenance to Planning a Wedding!)

Great ideas.. Thanks a lot! Like the sound of the half-page as it shouldn’t take too many pages of an insert up! 😊 thanks again! X
